You can connect a Threads account on any plan. It counts as one of your plan’s social accounts. See Which social accounts can I connect? Threads is separate from Instagram in PublishBuddy. Connecting Instagram doesn’t connect Threads, so add each one on its own.

What you need first

  • A Threads profile you can log in to.
  • If you use more than one Threads profile, know which one is logged in to Threads in this browser. The login window uses that one.

Connect your account

1

Open the networks

Click Accounts in the sidebar, then Add Social Accounts. Click the Threads tile.
2

Log in to Threads

A Threads window opens. Log in and allow PublishBuddy access to your Threads profile. If no window opens, your browser blocked the pop-up. See The login window didn’t open.
3

Add the account

Back in PublishBuddy, a window lists your Threads account by its username. Click Connect next to it. The button changes to Connected. Then click Done.

What you’ll see

A message confirms it, like “1 Threads account added”. PublishBuddy takes you back to Accounts. Your Threads account shows up in the list under its own Threads heading.

Threads and Instagram together

You can connect a Threads profile and an Instagram account in the same workspace, even when they belong together. They count as two social accounts. When you create a post, pick both if you want it on both.

Common problems

The window used the profile that’s logged in to Threads in your browser. Log out of Threads in another tab, log in to the right one, then connect again. To get rid of the wrong one, see Remove a social account.
That Threads account is already connected in this workspace. Look for it on Accounts. If it isn’t there, connect again and allow everything Threads asks for.
Threads ended PublishBuddy’s access. Reconnect the account with the same login.
