Plans: Pro and Business. Engage has a small menu on every comment with one option, Dismiss Comment. This page covers what it does, how to get a comment back, and how to find the post you’re after.

Dismiss a comment

1

Open the post

Click Engage in the sidebar, pick a social account, then click the post.
2

Open the comment's menu

Click the menu button on the right of the comment.
3

Click Dismiss Comment

The comment goes away from the Comments panel. Any replies under it go too.

What dismissing does and doesn’t do

Dismissing only clears the comment from your screen for now. It’s not saved.
  • It doesn’t delete the comment on the network. People still see it on Facebook, Instagram or wherever it was posted.
  • It doesn’t hide or report the comment on the network.
  • It’s only for you. Your teammates still see the comment.
  • It comes back. Open another post and then this one again, or reload the page, and the comment is there again.
To delete or hide a comment for real, click View Post above the comments. That opens the post on the network, where you can manage the comment.

Get a dismissed comment back

Click another post, then click the post again. Or reload the page. The comment shows again, with its replies. There’s no list of dismissed comments, and no way to undo a dismiss other than this.

Find an account

Engage shows one social account at a time. If you have many, search for the one you want.
1

Open the account menu

Click the round button at the left end of the row of account pictures.
2

Search

Type part of the account’s name in Search. Pick the account from Search results.
On a phone, use the Search box under Accounts at the top of the page. Then tap the account. Only accounts that work with Engage are listed. TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest and Telegram accounts don’t show.

Find a post

The Posts panel lists the account’s posts, newest first, 15 to a page. Use the page numbers under the posts to go further back. There’s no search box for posts, and no filter by date or network. To find an older post, page back through the list. Each card shows the start of the post’s text and its picture, which helps you spot it.

Search comments

There’s no search for comments yet, and no filter for comments you haven’t answered. Comments on a post show newest first, with up to 15 per post. The number on a post card is the comment count the network reports. It can be higher than the number of comments you see in Engage. See Why don’t I see comments in Engage?
