Plans: every plan sees post numbers. The Analytics page is on Business and the free trial. PublishBuddy gets its numbers from each network, but not live. It fetches them on a schedule, and it counts some things differently. Most gaps come from one of the reasons below.

When PublishBuddy fetches numbers

Every time below is UTC. So a post you publish today gets its numbers tomorrow. A follower change shows the next morning, UTC time.

Fetch the latest numbers now

Click Sync Analytics at the top of the Analytics page. It fetches the selected account’s posts from the last 365 days, then its account numbers.
  1. You’ll see “The synchronization has been successfully created.”
  2. When it’s done, you’ll see “Analytics synchronization completed.” and the page reloads its numbers.
  3. It can take up to 3 minutes. After that you’ll see “Analytics synchronization timed out. Please try again.” If something went wrong, you’ll see “Analytics synchronization failed. Please try again.”
Sync Analytics needs an owner or admin. Editors see “This action is unauthorized.”

Common reasons numbers differ

PublishBuddy is behind the network. The network counts live. PublishBuddy’s numbers are from its last fetch, up to a day old. The period ends yesterday. Every period on the Analytics page stops at the last full day. The network’s app may include today. Your time zone isn’t the network’s. PublishBuddy splits days by your own time zone. To check it, click your avatar, choose Settings and look at Timezone. The network may split days differently, so a post near midnight can land on another day. Older posts stop updating. The daily fetch only covers about the last 60 days of posts. After that, a post keeps its last numbers. Click Sync Analytics to refresh posts from the last year. It counts something else. A few words mean different things here:
  • Engagements are reactions plus comments. Shares, saves and clicks don’t count.
  • Engagement Rate is reactions plus comments, divided by impressions, times 100. The network may use another formula.
  • Reactions on Facebook counts every reaction type, not only likes.
  • New Followers works out differently per network. On Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and Bluesky, it’s the follower count at the end of the period minus the count at the start. So unfollows cancel out new follows. On Instagram, LinkedIn and Telegram, it’s the new follows the network reports.
  • On X, Reach is profile clicks. X doesn’t share reach.
  • On TikTok, Likes is the account’s total likes, not just the period’s.
See Which analytics each network gives for every network. All posts count. Analytics include every post on the account, not just the ones you made in PublishBuddy. A deleted post keeps its numbers. When you delete a post on the network, PublishBuddy keeps the last numbers it fetched. They still count toward your totals. A chart stops on the last day you posted. Charts built from your posts, like Post Engagement, end on the last day with a post. Charts from account numbers, like New Followers, run to the end of the period. The network stopped sharing it. Networks retire numbers from time to time. When that happens, the card says No Data or the number shows 0. For example, Facebook no longer shares the age and gender of a Page’s audience. The account needs reconnecting. PublishBuddy can’t fetch anything until you reconnect it. See Reconnect an account.

How far back numbers go

PublishBuddy keeps 2 years of analytics. The Posts page shows published posts from a set window, which depends on your plan. It’s 7 days on Free, 365 days on Pro and 2 years on Business. For TikTok, YouTube and Bluesky, follower history starts the day you connected the account.
