Where to find failed posts

  • Dashboard: the Recently Failed Posts card shows how many there are. Click View All to see them.
  • Posts: open Posts in the sidebar and switch the status menu to Failed.
  • Email: you get “Your post to [account] failed to publish”, with the reason. It can take up to 15 minutes to arrive. The same notice shows under the bell in the app.
Each failed post shows a red box with the reason it failed.

What the reason means

Sometimes the reason ends with The platform said: and a quote. That’s the network’s own message. It often tells you exactly what to change. No permission to publish. Check that your login still has a role on the Page or account that lets it post. Then reconnect the account and keep every permission switched on. Pinterest board. Pick a different board on the post. Or reconnect your Pinterest account, which also loads boards you made since you connected. Temporary errors. Wait a little, then click Retry. Could not be confirmed. Check the account on the network first. If the post is there, don’t send it again, or it goes out twice.

How to send it again

1

Fix the cause

Use the table above. Most failures need a reconnect or a change to the post.
2

Change the post if you need to

Failed posts have no Edit button. Click the post’s date and time instead to open the edit window.
3

Retry or pick a new time

  • Retry sends the post again right away. A queued post goes back into its queue slot.
  • Publish Again opens a date picker. Pick a time and click Schedule.
Editors who need approval don’t see Retry. Ask an owner or admin to send the post again.
Don’t need the post anymore? Click the trash icon, then Remove.

When to email us

Email hello@publishbuddy.com if the same post fails again after you fixed the cause, or the reason says “Failed by technical issues.” Include:
  • the social account and network
  • the time the post was due
  • the full reason, including any The platform said: part
