Approvals are on the Business plan, and in the 14-day trial.
Set it up
You set approval per person and per social account. Give someone Requires Approval By Admin access to an account, and nothing they write for it goes out until an owner or admin approves it.- For someone new, pick it when you invite them. See Invite your team and set roles.
- For someone already on the team, go to Team Members, click the ⋯ menu next to them and choose Edit Social Accounts. Change the account’s access to Requires Approval By Admin and click Save.
Send a post for approval
Anyone can send a post for approval, not only people who need it.- From the composer: click the arrow next to Save as Draft and choose Save and Request Approval. You’ll see “Draft saved and sent for review successfully.” The same option works for a bulk upload.
- From a draft: on the Posts page, open Drafts and click Request Approval on the post. You’ll see “The post has been moved to For Approval”.
Review a post
1
Find posts waiting for you
Open Posts and switch the status menu to For Approval. The number next to it shows how many are waiting. The Dashboard also shows a Posts For Approval count.
2
Check the post
Read it, check the preview and the media. Click Edit if you want to fix something yourself.
3
Approve it
There’s no separate approve button. Approving a post means choosing when it goes out:
- Click Add to Queue to approve it and give it the next free time in the queue.
- Or click the arrow next to it and pick Publish Next, Schedule or Publish Now.
Send a post back
Click Reject on the post, then Move to Draft to confirm. The post goes back to Drafts, and the author gets “Your post needs a few changes.” The reject step has no box for a reason. Add a note to the post instead: click the notes icon (tooltip “Notes”), write what needs to change, and @mention the author. They fix it and send it for approval again.Choose your emails
Click your avatar, choose Settings and open Email Notifications. Under Team you can turn each of these on or off:- “Send me an email when a post is waiting for my review.”
- “Send me an email when one of my posts gets approved.”
- “Send me an email when one of my posts is rejected.”
