Plans: Business, and the 14-day free trial. Every plan sees post numbers on the Posts page and the Dashboard. The Analytics page shows how one social account did over a time period. You see totals, charts and the account’s posts, with each total compared to the period before.

Open the page

1

Click Analytics in the sidebar

Your social accounts are listed on the left. Type in Search to find one.
2

Pick an account

The page loads that account’s numbers. Pinterest accounts aren’t listed. Their pin numbers show on the Posts page and the Dashboard.
3

Pick a time period

Use the menu at the top. It starts on Last 30 Days. You can also pick Last 7 Days, Last 14 Days, Last 90 Days, Previous Month, This Month or This Week.
Every period ends yesterday, the last full day. Today’s numbers come in tomorrow. See Why my numbers look different.

What’s on the page

The totals. Five boxes sit at the top:
  • New Followers: how many followers the account gained in the period.
  • Likes: likes on the account. For Facebook it’s called Reactions, because it counts every reaction type.
  • Reach: how many people saw your content, where the network shares it.
  • Engagements: reactions plus comments. Shares don’t count.
  • Posts: how many posts went out in the period.
The green or red percentage compares each total with the period just before, of the same length. The charts. Below the totals you’ll find:
  • Gender and Age, and Top Countries and Top Cities. See Audience: age, gender and location.
  • New Followers, Likes (or Reactions), Post Engagement and Post Reach, day by day.
  • Link Clicks and Video Views. These two only show when the total for the period is 10 or more.
  • Posts Per Day.
A card that has nothing to show says No Data. Each network shares different numbers. See Which analytics each network gives. Further down:
  • Recommendations: tips worked out from your recent posts.
  • Hashtag Performance: see Which hashtags get the most engagement.
  • Best Times To Post: a grid of the hours your posts did best, from your own history.
  • Posts: every post from the period with its Reactions, Comments, Shares, Reach and Engagement Rate. Sort them with the menu that starts on Sort by Publish Date, or filter by post type.
The buttons at the top:
  • The scheduled report menu sends you a PDF by email every week or month. See Scheduled email reports.
  • Export To PDF makes a report of what’s on the page. See Export a PDF report.
  • Sync Analytics fetches the latest numbers now.

What each plan sees

On Free and Pro, clicking Analytics opens a window about the page instead. On Free, start the 14-day trial from its Free 14 Day Trial button. The trial is Business, so you get the whole page. See The 14-day free trial. On Pro, or once your trial is used, upgrade to Business. See Upgrade or change your plan.

On a team

The plan that counts is the workspace owner’s. If the owner is on Business, everyone in the workspace gets the Analytics page. Each person sees only the accounts they have access to. Editors can look and export a PDF. Sync Analytics and scheduled reports need an owner or admin. An editor who tries them sees “This action is unauthorized.” See Team members and roles.
