You can connect a Pinterest account on any plan. It counts as one of your plan’s social accounts. See Which social accounts can I connect? You connect the whole Pinterest account, not one board. You choose the board later, each time you create a post.

What you need first

  • A Pinterest account you can log in to.
  • At least one board on that account. PublishBuddy can’t create boards, so make the boards you need in Pinterest before you connect.

Connect your account

1

Open the networks

Click Accounts in the sidebar, then Add Social Accounts. Click the Pinterest tile.
2

Log in to Pinterest

A Pinterest window opens. It’s taller than the other networks’ windows. Log in to the account you want to post to and allow access. If no window opens, your browser blocked the pop-up. See The login window didn’t open.
3

Add the account

Back in PublishBuddy, a window lists your Pinterest account. Click Connect next to it. The button changes to Connected. Then click Done.

What you’ll see

A message confirms it, like “1 Pinterest account added”. PublishBuddy takes you back to Accounts, and your Pinterest account shows up in the list.

Pick a board when you post

When you select your Pinterest account in the post window, a Boards box appears. Click Select Board and choose where the Pin goes. PublishBuddy loads your boards from Pinterest when you connect the account, and again each time you reconnect it. It loads them in the background, so give it a minute after connecting. Made a new board in Pinterest after connecting? It won’t show up until you reconnect the account. Pinterest posts need an image or a video. See Post types for each network.

Common problems

The account had no boards when you connected it, or the board is newer than your last connection. Make the board in Pinterest if you haven’t yet. Then reconnect the account and open the post window again.
The window uses whatever account is logged in to Pinterest in your browser. Log out of Pinterest in another tab, log in to the right account, then connect again.
If the account is already in this workspace, you’ll see “We didn’t receive any data from Pinterest” instead of a list. Look for it on Accounts.
