# Set up your posting queue

> Set the times each account posts at once. Every post you add to the queue takes the next free time.

The queue saves you from picking a date for every post. You set the posting times for an account once, like 9:00 and 17:30 on weekdays. After that, every post you **Add to Queue** takes the next free time.

Each social account has its own queue. Set it up for every account you post to.

## Add posting times

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the account's queue">
    Click **Accounts** in the sidebar. Click the **⋯** menu next to the account and choose **Queue Publish Times**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add a time">
    Click **+** under a day. In **Create Timeslot**, set the time and tick every day it should apply to (**Sun** to **Sat**).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pick a post type (optional)">
    Leave **Post Type** on **any** so the slot takes any post. Pick a type instead if you want that slot kept for one kind of post only.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Click Save">
    You'll see "Timeslot(s) added successfully." The new time shows under each day you picked.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Fill a week in one go

**Quickfill** adds a batch of times for you.

1. Click **Quickfill**.
2. Set the **Time-range**, like 08:00 to 20:00.
3. Untick any days you don't want. All seven start ticked.
4. Choose the **Number of posts** per day, from 1 to 20.
5. Click **Generate**.

Quickfill picks random times inside your range and adds them to the times you already have. It doesn't replace them.

## Edit or delete times

Click a time to change it in **Edit Timeslot**. On a computer, the same window has a **Delete** button.

To start over, click **Delete all** on the queue page. It removes every time for that account.

## How the queue picks a time

* **Add to Queue** puts a post at the back of the line. It gets the earliest free time after the posts ahead of it.
* **Publish Next** puts a post at the front of the line, so it takes the very next free time.
* When you change the times, PublishBuddy recalculates the queue and moves each post to its new slot.
* A slot set to one post type only takes posts of that type.

You can reorder queued posts by dragging them on the **Posts** page, under **Queue**.

## Common messages

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="One or more profiles still need Queue Publish Times">
    You added a post to the queue for an account that has no times yet. Add times for that account (above), or pick **Schedule** in the composer and set a date.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="No suitable timeslot could be found">
    The account has times, but none take this kind of post. Add a slot with **Post Type** set to **any**, or to this post's type.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Draft posts can not be in queue">
    Drafts stay out of the queue until you're ready. Open the draft on the **Posts** page and click **Add to Queue**.
  </Accordion>
</AccordionGroup>

<Note>
  There's no pause button for the queue. If you delete an account's times, its queued posts lose their slots and won't go out until you add times again.
