# How do I pick a Pinterest board and add a title and link?

> Schedule a Pin from PublishBuddy: choose the board, write the title and description, and add the link people visit.

Every Pin goes to one of your boards and needs an image or video. You can also give it a title and a link. The composer shows these fields when your Pinterest account is active. If you haven't connected Pinterest yet, see [Connect Pinterest](/help/connect/pinterest).

## Schedule a Pin

<Steps>
  <Step title="Pick your Pinterest account">
    Click **New Post** and pick your Pinterest account under **Accounts**. If you picked other accounts too, click the Pinterest avatar above the text box.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add the title">
    Type it in **Title**, above the text box.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Write the description">
    The text box becomes the Pin's description.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add media">
    Add one image, a few images, or one video. Pinterest won't take a text-only post.

  </Step>

    Further down, type the web address people should visit in **Link**. This step is optional.

  </Step>
</Steps>

## The Pinterest fields

| Field | What it does | Required |
| - | - | - |
| **Title** | The Pin's title | No, but see below |
| Text box | The Pin's description | No |
| **Boards** | The board the Pin is saved to | Yes |
| **Link** | Where people go when they click the Pin | No |

If you save without a board, you'll see "You must select a Pinterest Board for this post first."

The link must be a full web address, like `https://example.com/page`.

<Note>
  If you leave **Title** empty, PublishBuddy uses your text as the Pin's title instead, and the Pin has no description. Fill in **Title** to get both.
</Note>

## How long the title and description can be

PublishBuddy sends Pinterest the first 100 characters of the title and the first 500 of the description. Anything after that is cut off when the Pin goes out, with no warning.

Emoji and accented letters count as more than one character here. Keep both a little under the limit to be safe.

## Images and video

* **One image** makes a standard Pin.
* **Several images** make one Pin with multiple images. You can add up to 5. More than that stops with "Media contents count validation failed."
* **One video** makes a video Pin. Pinterest uses the first frame as the cover.

You can't mix images and a video in one Pin.

## My board isn't in the list

PublishBuddy loads your boards when you connect or reconnect your Pinterest account. If you made a board on Pinterest since then, it won't show up yet. Reconnect the account to load it.

To reconnect, open **Accounts** in the sidebar. Click the **⋯** menu next to the Pinterest account and choose **Reconnect**.
