# What can I post to each network?

> One table of the post types each network takes in PublishBuddy: text, images, carousels, video, Reels and Stories.

This page shows what kind of post each network takes when you schedule it from PublishBuddy. For file sizes, video lengths and character counts, see [Character, image and video limits for each network](/help/limits/media-limits).

## The table

| Network | Text only | One image | Several images | One video | Photos and video mixed | Reel | Story |
| - | - | - | - | - | - | - | - |
| Facebook Page | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | No | Yes | Yes |
| Instagram | No | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| LinkedIn | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | No | No | No |
| X | Yes | Yes | Yes, up to 4 | Yes | No | No | No |
| Threads | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | No | No |
| Bluesky | Yes | Yes | Yes, up to 4 | Yes | No | No | No |
| Telegram | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | No | No |
| TikTok | No | Yes | Yes | Yes | No | No | No |
| Pinterest | No | Yes | Yes, up to 5 | Yes | No | No | No |
| YouTube | No | No | No | Yes | No | Yes | No |

A few rules apply to every network:

* A post can hold up to 8 media files. Some networks allow fewer, as the table shows.
* Two or more videos in one post count as mixed media. Only Instagram, Threads and Telegram take that.
* **Reel** and **Story** take exactly one file. A Reel must be a video.
* **Post**, **Reel** or **Story** applies to every account in the post. Reel only works if every account is on Facebook, Instagram or YouTube. Story only works if every account is on Facebook or Instagram.

For how the three types work, see [Posts, Reels and Stories](/help/posts/post-types).

## Notes for each network

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Facebook Page">
    Text, links, images and a single video all work. You can't mix photos and a video in one post. Text and link posts can carry a call-to-action button. Stories go out without a caption. See [Facebook Reels, Stories and the call-to-action button](/help/posts/facebook-options).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Instagram">
    Every post needs media. Several images make a carousel, and a carousel can mix photos and videos. Videos in a mixed carousel can't be 9:16. A video sent as **Post** goes out as a Reel. Stories go out without a caption. This applies to accounts on the Instagram login too. See [Instagram Reels and Stories](/help/posts/instagram-reels-stories).

  </Accordion>

## What you'll see if a post doesn't fit

Some checks run when you save the post:

* "Instagram does not support this type of post." (or TikTok or Pinterest) means the post has no media.
* "Youtube does not support this type of post." means a YouTube post has no video.
* "Bluesky supports a maximum of 4 media items per post." means you added too many files for Bluesky.
* A message that ends in "publication type must be only" lists the types that network takes. It usually means you mixed photos and a video.

Other problems only show up when the network gets the post, and the post fails. See [My post failed](/help/troubleshooting/post-failed).
