# Connect an X (Twitter) account

> Add your X account to PublishBuddy so you can schedule posts to it.

You can connect an X account on any plan. It counts as one of your plan's social accounts. See [Which social accounts can I connect?](/help/connect-accounts)

Each X account you connect is one social account in PublishBuddy. To post to two X accounts, connect each one on its own.

## What you need first

* An X account you can log in to.
* If you manage more than one X account, know which one is logged in to X in this browser. The login window uses that one.

## Connect your account

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the networks">
    Click **Accounts** in the sidebar, then **Add Social Accounts**. Click the **X** tile.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Log in to X">
    An X window opens. Log in to the account you want to post to. Then click the button to authorize PublishBuddy.

    If no window opens, your browser blocked the pop-up. See [The login window didn't open](/help/troubleshooting/popup-blocked).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add the account">
    Back in PublishBuddy, a window lists your X account. Click **Connect** next to it. The button changes to **Connected**. Then click **Done**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## What you'll see

A message confirms it, like "1 X account added". PublishBuddy takes you back to **Accounts**, and your X account shows up in the list.

Want **Connect another network** instead of **Done**? It closes the list and keeps you on the networks screen, so you can add the next one.

## Add a second X account

<Steps>
  <Step title="Switch accounts in X">
    In another browser tab, open X. Log out, or switch to the other account.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Connect again">
    Back in PublishBuddy, click the **X** tile again and log in with the second account.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Common problems

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="The wrong X account shows up">
    The window used the account that's logged in to X in your browser. Switch accounts in X, then connect again. To get rid of the wrong one, see [Remove a social account](/help/connect/remove-account).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="We didn't receive any data from X">
    The account you logged in with is already connected in this workspace. Look for it on **Accounts**. Or you said no on X's authorize screen. Connect again and allow access.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Posts to X fail with a reconnect message">
    X ended PublishBuddy's access. [Reconnect the account](/help/connect/reconnect) with the same X login.
  </Accordion>
